Absolute funking quality dark, techy, standing in a club and not able to see 2 foot in front of you, old school, BLISS!! A must for anyone who was around in the scene in the 90′s.
Yes folks, it’s *that* sound.

Just when you think Mr Walters couldn’t get any better… Goddamn!!
This looks awesome! Unless you listen to Radio 1 or 1 Xtra, you may not know about this upcoming D&B fest on Bank Holiday Monday – 7pm ’til 5am.
I love the tilt shift shot of the swimming pool where it looks like the shadow teeth of the skyscraper behind are eating it at about 2:55. The colours are amazing!

More inspiration… because it can come from anywhere.
Sit back and enjoy the music, skating and the amazing cinematography of this video.
I’m not a big fan of award shows unless it’s going to be something genuine and giving thanks and praise to the scene and the individuals who count. This year the DnB Awards voting was open for anyone to be voted for, not a ticky box affair which had the potential for some interesting results however, it seems (rightly or wrongly) that the same people have been voted the ‘Best’. Is this because they are the best? Of course but how about taking the Best DJ crown from Andy C, it’s highly unlikely! It does however give you something to think about… if Andy C has been voted number one again, how did he do it? Hard work, determination… yes… but how about the history… you’re not going to vote off Andy C because he was there from the start. The history of the scene runs so deep.
So to give the awards something new, why not bring it up to date by removing, altering and adding some categories? If the awards are to be taken more seriously, get some serious competition in there. Make it easier for people to be toppled from the top by encouraging the underdogs to be inspired.

Now for my categories…
Ok, I know some of these categories aren’t great but I want to prove a point. Give the producers, DJs, MCs and everyone involved in the scene something genuine to aim for. Strive to make the scene better by using these award shows for something great, not just a piss up and a couple of trophies.
Thanks for reading and I’d love it if you left a comment. It’s our scene, let’s make it even better in 2010.
A big thanks to Simon ‘Bassline’ Smith for tweeting from the event. These are the results via Simon… and strangely, I can’t find anything on the official website, yet!

Eeeeeh, look what a quick squizz on Google found me this morning. Ok, it was the top search result but I gotta make it sound like a worked for this
One in the Jungle Archive! Nearly every set from 1995 to 1998 are on here with only a couple missing. Much, much respect to the guy (or girl) who put this together.
I think I was even at Danny Breaks & Randall Live In Newcastle and it’s a personal recommendation, it goes off!
Naughty, naughty live drum and bass from The DJ vs The Drummer aka L Double, Jungle Drummer with Rodney P and MC Trip. Absolutely mental drumming, MCing, DJing and you can feel the energy right from the start. If there is anyone out there thinking about resurrecting the live drum and bass tip then this is how you do it.
I’m gonna be trawling Youtube for a video of this because I’d just gotta see Jungle Drummer go insane like Animal from the Muppets
